Abbie Stockard Is The New Miss America 2025

Abbie Stockard, Miss Alabama 2024, was crowned Miss America 2025 on January 5, 2025 at the Walt Disney Theater, Orlando, Florida. Based in Vestavia Hills, Alabama, the 22-year-old nursing student wowed judges with her poise, intelligence and talent over the course of the competition, a feat that solidified her as the fourth Miss America from Alabama.

Abbie Stockard is a daughter of Mary Louise Stockard and Lawrence W. Stockard of Vestavia Hills, a suburb of Birmingham, Ala. Raised in a family that places great importance on education and service, Abbie felt a calling to pursue a career in the healthcare field. She is now a student at Auburn University pursuing a nursing degree with plans to specialize in pediatric nurse anaesthesia. Manila: Her academic prowess coupled with her desire to lend a helping hand to others prepared her for the road to pageantry.

Abbie Stockard’s Pageant Journey As Miss America 2025

Her path to Miss America began with her crown as Miss Hoover 2024. In June 2024, she won the title of Miss Alabama 2024, competing with 48 contestants.

The Miss America 2025 pageant featured Abbie besting 51 other state and regional titleholders. Her winning combination of grace, intellect, and gift of gab not only won her the title, but also a college scholarship worth $50,000 that she will use to pursue a nursing degree.

Platform and Advocacy

Abbie Stockard: “Empowering Communities Through Health Access”- Children and families deserve access to affordable healthcare. She works closely with nonprofit organizations in Alabama to ensure health equity and awareness of important health issues. In the pageant’s Q&A segment, Abbie discussed the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the labor participation rate of 25-to-54-year-olds, and she stressed the importance of getting people into the workforce and training for new skills.

The Miss America 2025

The Miss America 2025 competition was held at the Walt Disney Theater in Orlando, Florida, from December 31, 2024, to January 5, 2025. A total of 52 women from all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico competed for the title. Abbie’s performance in the preliminary rounds and her advocacy work earned her a spot among the top 11 finalists.

The Prize and Scholarship

As Miss America 2025, Abbie Stockard received a $50,000 scholarship from the Miss America Scholarship Foundation, thanks to its alliance with the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women initiative. The program seeks to increase women’s heart health awareness and highlight fitness and health activities around the country. Each of the top four finishers was awarded a $10,000 scholarship.

Ahead of the final in Florida, Abbie Stockard took to Instagram to reflect on her journey.

Tonight, a new Miss America will be crowned. As I step into this evening, I am filled with excitement, honor, and gratitude,” she said in a post. “Thanking the Lord for placing me here this week and giving me one of the most incredible experiences of my life. Regardless of the outcome, I want to express my deepest thanks to my friends, family, the amazing Miss Alabama board, and the wonderful people of Alabama for making me feel so appreciated and loved. I hope I’ve made you proud and represented you well,” she added.

During Abbie’s yearlong reign as Miss America, she will have many opportunities to travel around the world to promote her platform. With the scholarship, she intends to continue her education and help improve access to quality healthcare for poorer communities.
