Dr. Al-Adeeb was born and raised in Iraq. She has degrees in medicine from Harvard Medical School, anthropology and women’s studies from California State University, Northridge, and sociocultural anthropology from Columbia University. She teaches feminism, ethnography, and postcolonial theory as an assistant professor at San Francisco State University at the moment.
