Wealthy heir Alex Soros engages with Hillary Clinton’s right-hand woman Huma Abedin

One of George Soros’ sons has confirmed his marriage. The engagement took place six weeks ago and the couple announced their upcoming engagement on social media.

Alex Soros and Huma Abedin are engaged. The son of billionaire tycoon George Soros proposed to one of Hillary Clinton ‘s closest associates just over a month agoand now the couple is enjoying a holiday on the Italian coast where they have decided to announce their upcoming wedding via their social media. “This happened and we couldn’t be happier and more grateful or more in love ❤️ 😍 💍,” Alex Soros wrote alongside the moment when he got down on one knee to propose to his girlfriend.

The couple has only been dating for a few months. It was in February when their relationship came to light when the wealthy Hungarian-born American heir posted a photo on Instagram on Valentine’s Day. In the image, Alex and Huma were seen happy and together having dinner in a Paris restaurant surrounded by red roses. Since then, they have been seen together at some public events such as a Knicks basketball game or at the recent MET Gala held in May in New York.

Alexander Soros has been at the helm of his father’s empire since June 2023 , when George Soros handed over the presidency to him and took over the management of the company, a financial and charitable empire valued at some $25 billion . Since the 1990s, part of the family’s wealth has been used to support the consolidation of democracy in dozens of countries. “He has earned it,” the tycoon told The New York Times about his son.

George Soros was born in Hungary and lived through the Nazi occupation during World War II, with his entire family having to hide their Jewish identity in order to survive. After the war he moved to London and then to New York, where he built an empire through his financial activities. His foundation now allocates some $1.5 billion each year to educational and human rights organizations in more than 120 countries. George Soros is one of the largest donors to the Democratic Party in the United States.

Alex, 38, has a degree in History from New York University and is the second youngest of five siblings. He grew up in Katonah , New York. In addition to his interest in politics and business, he is also a passionate fan of hip hop and the New York Jets American football team. In addition, in the United States he is well known for having famous faces such as Olivia Palermo in his inner circle and for enjoying great trips and parties in Cannes or the Hamptons.

Clinton’s right-hand woman and divorced

Huma Abedin , born in Michigan 47 years ago, is the daughter of Syed Abedin , a professor of Indian origin who worked at King Abdulaziz University in Saudi Arabia, and Saleha Mahmood Abedin , a Pakistani-born sociology professor at Dar Al -Hekma College in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Huma’s family moved from Michigan to Saudi Arabia in 1978 when she was two years old, and she lived there until she was 18, when she returned to the United States to study at George Washington University .

Just a year later, she landed a position as an intern on the staff of the then First Lady of the White House, Hillary Clinton , and at the end of Bill Clinton ‘s presidential term , Hillary brought her into the team with which she began her political career, first winning a seat in the Senate for the state of New York. She first took on the role of personal assistant and years later was promoted to chief of staff on the campaign team against Barack Obama.

When Hillary Clinton was appointed Secretary of State in 2009, Abedin was named deputy chief of staff for the department, and when Clinton left the Cabinet, she was tasked with overseeing the handover to John Kerry and Clinton ‘s transition into private life. When Hillary Clinton ran for President of the United States in 2015, Abedin was part of the founding campaign team and accompanied the candidate everywhere and is now one of Hillary Clinton ‘s most trusted confidants .

Huma Abedin was previously married to former Congressman Anthony Weiner , who was sentenced to 21 months in prison for sending sexually explicit text messages to a minor in 2017, the same year Abedin filed for divorce. Together they have a 13-year-old son. In 2022, Huma was rumored to be in a relationship with Bradley Cooper.
