SEOUL, South Korea — Renowned K-pop artist Kim Seok-jin, widely known as Jin of the phenomenal group BTS, has officially been named a global brand ambassador for the iconic Italian fashion house Gucci. The highly anticipated collaboration, predicted by Jin’s dedicated fan base, the ARMY, adds another illustrious partnership to Jin’s resume.
Ahead of his enlistment, Jin served as an ambassador for Jin Ramen and has represented renowned brands like Louis Vuitton and Samsung Galaxy during his tenure with BTS. Gucci, a brand Jin has long been associated with, both through their gifts and his personal wardrobe choices, now solidifies their relationship.
In a statement to Women’s Wear Daily (WWD), Jin expressed his admiration for Gucci: “Gucci is iconic, with a long-standing heritage and modernity. It is meaningful and thrilling to be a part of such a house.” Creative Director Sabato De Sarno reciprocated the sentiment, praising Jin’s “warm and kind personality” and “unique style.” He added, “He is a generous and extraordinary artist who is able to move people with his music, which makes us even more honored to share this journey with him.”
The partnership between Jin and Gucci underscores the brand’s strengthening relationship with South Korea. Gucci currently boasts a roster of Korean celebrity ambassadors, including EXO’s Kai, NewJeans’ Hanni, Lee Jung Jae, Park Gyu Young, and Jay Park. The fashion house will further celebrate Korean culture through its upcoming Gucci Cultural Month initiative in Seoul, commencing on October 15.
The event will pay tribute to the heritage of Korean culture by spotlighting the work of renowned artists who have elevated local arts to the global stage. Among the talents involved are conceptual artist Kimsooja, filmmaker Chan Wook Park, contemporary dancer Eun Me Ahn, and pianist Seong Jin Cho. The initiative will encompass photography, videos, exhibitions, special performances, and cultural lectures.
