New Delhi: Bollywood actress Urvashi Rautela found herself at the centre of a controversy on Wednesday as a private video of hers, apparently taken in a bathroom, was leaked online and quickly went viral.
In the video, the actress can be seen changing her clothes, sparking a divided reaction from netizens. While some sympathised with Rautela, others called it a publicity stunt, with one social media user commenting, “When you hire a PR team from Kindergarten.”
The controversy took a new turn as a private phone call between Rautela and her manager was also leaked. In the recording, the actress can be heard asking her manager, “Have you seen the video? I’m concerned about how these things are happening. We need to get this resolved.” The manager assured her that the team was working on removing the video from the internet and advised her to refrain from discussing sensitive matters over the phone.

The manager suggested that an in-person meeting upon Rautela’s return to Mumbai on July 19, 2024, would be more appropriate. This leak has intensified the speculation that the entire episode might be a marketing strategy for her upcoming film. Comments on social media platforms reflected this suspicion, with one user stating, “Publicity for [an] upcoming movie,” and another calling it a “[cheap] publicity [stunt] by her manager and PR team.”
