The highly anticipated Indian film Kalki 2898 AD is now available for streaming on OTT platforms in India. The film, starring Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, and Amitabh Bachchan, was released in theatres on June 27 and has now arrived on Netflix and Prime Video, starting August 22.
The Hindi version of Kalki 2898 AD can be streamed on Netflix India. Meanwhile, the original Telugu version and other regional language versions, including Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada, are exclusively available on Prime Video India. This dual-platform release strategy is an exception to the usual practice of pan-Indian films being available on a single platform.
Kalki 2898 AD is a blockbuster dystopian sci-fi epic directed by Nag Ashwin. The film boasts a star-studded cast, including Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Disha Patani, Anna Ben, and Saswata Chatterjee, among others. The film is an ambitious blend of the Hindu epic Mahabharata and science fiction, with a storyline that explores the complexities of human nature.
Prabhas, who plays the role of Bhairava, shared his excitement about the film’s digital release: “Kalki 2898 AD is a film that pushes the boundaries of storytelling, and I’m thrilled for audiences around the world to experience its unique vision.”
Director Nag Ashwin also expressed his enthusiasm, stating that the film delves into themes of hope, destiny, and the eternal struggle between good and evil. He added that the dual-platform release strategy would ensure a wider reach across different regions and languages.

Kalki 2898 AD has been a massive success at the box office, grossing over ₹1,000 crore worldwide. The film’s India gross collection stands at ₹766.65 crore, with an additional ₹275 crore from overseas markets. With a production budget of around ₹600 crore, the film has become the highest-grossing Indian movie of 2024.
The film’s success continues the trend of Indian cinema’s global appeal and reinforces the popularity of films rooted in Indian mythology and culture. Kalki 2898 AD is now accessible to an even larger global audience through its release on Netflix and Prime Video.
